Address: 13, St Mungo Street, Glasgow
Date: 1912–13
Client: James McMichael & Sons
Authorship: Authorship category 4 (Office) (Office)

Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh's drawings submitted to the Glasgow Dean of Guild Court show a projecting, two-storey brick addition at the rear of a tenement building. Each storey contained one W.C. accessed from the half-landing. These additions were made in line with the 1892 Burgh Police (Scotland) Act which required that, where not already existing, an indoor water supply, waterclosets and drainage should be introduced into every domestic building. 1 This was one of numerous tenement-improvement projects carried out by the practice for house factor James McMichael & Son.

Authorship: This is one of over 270 jobs carried out in the office of John Honeyman & Keppie (Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh from 1901) during Mackintosh's time there. Mackintosh undoubtedly worked on many of these, but there is no specific evidence for his involvement in this case.
