Mackintosh made significant alterations to this 1860s terraced house when he and Margaret Macdonald bought it in 1906. He added new windows and a new front door, and carried out extensive structural changes which transformed the major interior spaces.

Authorship: Drawings in Mackintosh's hand show the intended alterations, electrical wiring, fittings and furniture.
