![]() | M256 Morning room mantelpiece for Prospecthill House, PaisleyAddress: PaisleyDate: 1905 Client: Edith Rowat Authorship: ![]() |
This mantelpiece incorporating seats and shelves is known from a drawing. The mantelpiece itself does not survive. 1 The client, Edith Rowat, was member of the Rowat family, for whom Mackintosh designed a number of projects–see M202, M256, M291 and MX.06.
This was not an architectural scheme, but is included here because there is an entry for it in Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh's job book.
Authorship: The job-book entry is written in Mackintosh's hand. The drawing is by Mackintosh and annotated by him, and the style of the design is clearly his.
Cost from office job book: £18 0s 3d
