Alice Talwin Morris

Alice Marsh (1861–1955) married the designer Talwin Morris in 1892. 1 He was appointed 'Art Manager' with the Glasgow publisher Blackie & Sons Ltd the following year, and the couple moved from London to live at Dunglass, Bowling. In Glasgow they became friends of Margaret Macdonald and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Alice Talwin Morris wrote children's books which were published by Blackie, and following her husband's death she became a reader for the firm. 2 She presented work by her husband to the Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum in 1946. 3
