Laurence Robertson

The son of a banker, Laurence (or Lawrence) Robertson (c. 1831–1894) was a prosperous chartered accountant and stockbroker with the Glasgow firm of L. & R. H. Robertson, 58 St Vincent Street. From 1874 he split his time between two affluent residential addresses: 4 Park Circus, Glasgow, and Morland, a large house on the Ayrshire coast at Skelmorlie, which John Honeyman extended for him. 1 As Chairman, he presented the Glasgow Stock Exchange with a bust of Queen Victoria by Horace Montford in 1887, to mark the Golden Jubilee. 2 He died at Morland on 31 December 1894, aged 63. 3
