Charles Young is listed as a nurseryman and landscape gardener from 1900–01, living at 1 Afton Terrace, Barrhead Rd, Pollokshaws. In 1908–9 he opened Kennishead Nurseries in Pollokshaws, and was resident at Wood Cottage in nearby Kennishead. Apart from five years from 1919–24, where his entry vanishes from the Glasgow Post Office Directory, he was active at both addresses until 1943. 1
