Portobello Free Church becomes St Philip's United Free Church, following union of the Free Church and United Presbyterian Church. 3

27 August: Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh receive payment of 18 5s 0d for unspecified work at the church. 4

5 April: Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh have been consulted about a scheme for a new organ. 5
3 May: Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh are to be instructed to prepare working plans. 6

5 June: Deacons' Court of St Philip's decides not to proceed with Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh's scheme for a chancel to house the organ, because at 1900 it is too costly. 7
18 June: Deacons' Court decides to place the organ 'on the platform behind the pulpit'. Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh will still be employed as architects. 8
30 July: Mackintosh to attend a site visit to discuss the design of the organ case, and prepare plans for the 'power room'. 9
