John Honeyman & Keppie made additions to provide W.C.s on the ground and first floors of two two-storey tenements on Water Street and on all floors of a five-storey tenement stairwell on Crawford Street, and provided associated drains. These additions were made in line with the 1892 Burgh Police (Scotland) Act which required that, where not already existing, an indoor water supply, indoor water closets and drainage should be introduced to every domestic building. 1

Authorship: This is one of over 270 jobs carried out in the office of John Honeyman & Keppie (Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh from 1901) during Mackintosh's time there. Mackintosh undoubtedly worked on many of these, but there is no specific evidence for his involvement in this case.
